You will work alongside Red Hook's staff to cultivate a variety of vegetables and herbs on Red Hook's farm sites. Tasks may include weeding, harvesting, planting, turning compost, and many other farm duties. The farm work often includes moving objects around the site and working close to ground for extended periods of time. These represent typical activities but there are many other farm duties that exist outside of these parameters.
Red Hook Farms, a project of Red Hook Initiative, is a youth-centered urban farming and food justice program in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Since 2001, they have strived to improve community access to healthy, affordable produce, while nurturing a new generation of green leaders.
