Cross-Cultural Dialogue Series: Social Media: A blessing or a curse? [Soliya]

The Rotaract Club at the United Nations is happy to share an invitation for a series of short cross-cultural dialogue events organized by Soliya's Connect Program.

Soliya is an online platform allowing for virtual exchange across the globe. The concept: a group of 10-12 people from across the world meet virtually for a 2-hour session of dialogue. In this program, you can expect:

  • Facilitated discussions on current issues, build meaningful relationships and network with their global peers, and develop / improve their dialogue skills.

  • The program runs for 2 weeks, with two, face-to-face online meetings hosted on Zoom. Participants will also be able to engage one another offline and participate in various activities on our platform.

  • Those who complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion and gain access to our alumni network and alumni resources.

The first session happens on March 25, 2022 (9 AM EST or 12 PM EST) and April 1, 2022 (same session/time)

  • How do you think the artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms behind these platforms are affecting your behavior?

  • What risks and rewards do they bring?

  • How can users exercise more responsibility on these platforms?
