Statement of the Rotaract Club at the United Nations on Ukraine Conflict

The ongoing military operations and the escalation of violence in Ukraine pose an immediate threat to the lives and wellbeing of the People of Ukraine and conflict directly with the United Nations Charter. The right to self-determination is a core principle of international law and must be protected.

In line with our values of inclusion, respect, and global fellowship, the Rotaract Club at the United Nations joins the international community in condemning Vladimir Putin’s unjustified invasion of Ukraine and calls for de-escalation and urgent diplomatic efforts to resolve this conflict.

The protection of the civilian population, including children, must be a priority. The Rotaract Club at the United Nations stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and with the Russian citizens peacefully voicing their opposition to this senseless war.
